Tuesday, June 24: Young Adult Books: Books, Books & More Books!
Need purchase suggestions for your library collection or classroom library? Get great ideas from this workshop for young adult books that you must have in your collection! Hear booktalks for new fiction and learn what’s new in young adult lit that can’t be missed. Discover what is on Jana & Jill’s Top Ten List for 2007 and what new titles you MUST have to start out the fall, receive annotated bibliographies for using fiction across the curriculum, and learn about titles that you may have missed. Annotated booklists also provided for those Harry Potter and Twilight readers who need other reading suggestions. (ADE Criteria: Content, Instructional strategies, Advocacy/leadership)
  • Participants will gain insight into new YA titles.
  • Participants will be able to identify books for purchase for their library collection.
  • Participants will be aware of upcoming sequels to titles already in their collections.
  • Participants will be provided with annotated booklists to help their students locate books of interest.
  • Participants will discover new methods of booktalking and promoting books.
